Swanny66 Posted April 25, 2011 Share #1 Posted April 25, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Seems as though these are coming into stock more. As Pictureline has one in stock as we speak. Maybe supply is getting better? I would buy this one if I didn't just buy one last week!
Advertisement Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Hi Swanny66, Take a look here Silver 50MM Summilux Availability. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Peter H Posted April 25, 2011 Share #2 Posted April 25, 2011 I found (and bought) a black one last week and I wasn't on a waiting list. Dealers I've spoken to since then were astonished. One said they still had 20 people waiting, another said a very similar thing and were quoting a 12 month wait for new enquiries. Maybe we just got lucky. I know I did! tuanvo1982 Posted April 26, 2011 Share #5 Posted April 26, 2011 Do you know how much it shoud cost for serial >18xxx. I got an offer £800 for type 1 (serial <18xxx) but I heard that type 2 is much better.
Xmas Posted April 26, 2011 Share #6 Posted April 26, 2011 Hi Vo Wide open the type II optics (post 1844,000) have better performance, but by /5.6 or smaller much the same. The collapsible you tried rather better off axis at /5.6 or smaller, you pay/compromise a lot for the /1.4, not just £... The earlier lenses are also single coated, donno when they went multi. Ivor wants more for his type I but there is a hood, hoods expensive. The type I are collectors as well only 13k off http://www.reddotcameras.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=34_36&products_id=2893 Brouse the classifieds for typical £. There is still a (new M9 user) lens shortage inflating Leica lens £, but they may never come down. The CV equivalent f/1.5 is also appreciating. With a D Leica you may not be able to justify a /1.4, very narrow depth of field. Noel
