SteveLaverty Posted April 17, 2011 Share #1 Posted April 17, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm very confused, I have a Digilux 3 with Elmarit R 180 on adapter ring but I can't get it to work, when I hit the shutter nothing happens! I'm sure it's just 1 setting that I haven't done but I don't know what. (it's on MF) Any help appreciated. Steve.
Advertisement Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Hi SteveLaverty, Take a look here Digilux 3 with Elmarit R 180 - How!. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
adan Posted April 17, 2011 Share #2 Posted April 17, 2011 Check the "No release without lens" listing in the Custom Menu and set it to "Off". See last item in menu description here: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/panasonicdmcl1/page10.asp Digilux 3 thinks there is no lens mounted if it is not finding a recognizable Leica/Panasonic/Olympus 4/3rds lens chip - so you have to soothe its fevered brow and tell it is OK to take a picture even if it can't sense any lens. Rickford Posted April 18, 2011 Share #4 Posted April 18, 2011 Very interesting that you have the R-lense attached to the digilux 3. Can you post some results? Would be nice. A few weeks ago i started a thread about if there were any digilux 3 fans left. But that thread is dead now. Maybe you can show some here? These r lenses are awesome. Happy shooting, Rickford

roguewave Posted April 21, 2011 Share #7 Posted April 21, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Steve, don't forget that the lens has now doubled the effective focal length. I use a Summicron 50 & a Summilux 80 on my D3 all the time. Most excellent kits. The D3 is really amarvelous camera. I love how the color images are processed for B&W conversion. They aren't too contrasty, so there's a ton of detail & information in the file to play with. Good luck on your quest.
Boon113 Posted April 21, 2011 Share #8 Posted April 21, 2011 I had the function "no release without lens" to OFF, but still not working. It shows " turn the camera off and on again" which I did but still not working. Could it be that my R to 4:3 adapter is not working? Or is there other way to solve it? Happy shooting, Rickford I have been using R lenses with my D3 and today was testing an R 50 Summicron. Not sure if this image composition is just a bit messy but the lens nevertheless looks very painterly to me. Welcome, dear visitor!
