Jeff, A lot of substantiated rumors are saying we might see Leopard before the end of February!  Meanwhile, for those of us who sweat out the details on our $40 purchases, I just picked up one of these: SanDisk | Products | Accessories | ImageMate Reader/Writers  It was one of only a handful of card readers which officially supports SDHC, among other things. One less thing to worry about in the future, I thought.  I bought a Lexar Pro x133 2GB card from B&H (sale price $69) about two weeks ago and it included a reader and copy of Image Rescue. The manual says "Use the program 'Digital Pictures' to transfer" but no program of that name was included in the software CDs. The camera does connect and can be triggered by Leica Digital Capture software (so USB connection is working) but I do not see a download provision in the interface. Â iPhoto sees the camera, but of course cannot download RAW files. Â CS2 Bridge does not see the camera as a drive, nor does an icon appear on the desktop. Â What am I missing? Â BTW - the M8 declares "USB connected". Â iphoto will download the raw file but it will not show it properly in iphoto.. only keep it there. i then import the raw images into capture from iphoto. 4season Posted January 31, 2007 Share #25  Posted January 31, 2007 I have iPhoto 5 and OS X 10.4.9 recognizing and downloading .DNG images from the M8; here's how:  1.) Download a .DNG image to your computer. There are a couple available on this page: Leica Camera AG - Downloads  2.) Click on the .DNG file's icon and select File:Get Info (or Command-I)  3.) In the section titled "Open with:" select Preview (or iPhoto or other application of your choice, it's probably not critical)  4.) Click "Change All"  OS X will now recognize .DNG as a valid file type, and iPhoto will download the images, though only the JPG thumbnail can be displayed.  Edit: Whoops, never mind, looks like iPhoto will at least download the DNG by default, without all of the fuss Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

bap Posted February 1, 2007 Share #28 Â Posted February 1, 2007 Ok if this has not been said or if it has then it's about to again ....In your Mac go to file and make a new folder ...call it whatever the photo's are and ask it to be on the desktop ...pretty easy for a mac person.....open image capture and go to preferences and pick open when camera is attached........close everything and put the usb cord in the M8 and in the Mac and turn the M8 on...the mac will ask you to what folder ...you pick the one you just named and hit download and that's it ....then pick what program to edit them in.
