Tom M Posted March 30, 2011 Share #1 Posted March 30, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) We are all aware that moiré is common on M9 images and I readily accept it as a price for the ultra-sharp photographs the camera produces. However, I am baffled by a problem which is best illustrated in the attached images. The guy wires of a telecommunication antenna across the street which I used to check my camera's rangefinder at infinity, consistently shows three defects in a vertical line-up. Between the defects there is no loss of detail. The defects are vertical (on landscape view), whereas the sensor read-out as I understand, is horizontal. Also, on blank images (white background) there are no defects. Moiré or sensor defect? Many thanks for your informed comments. Tom PS: It appears, that I was unable to attach the images. T. ho_co Posted March 30, 2011 Share #2 Posted March 30, 2011 Tom, check image sizes. See http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/about-leica-forum/144288-how-resize-photos-posting-forum.html. Andy Barton also posted upload instructions at http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/about-leica-forum/144293-how-upload-photos-forum.html. So far, no wisdom from my side. gravastar Posted March 30, 2011 Share #3 Posted March 30, 2011 Does it look anything like the problem shown in this thread? I've also seen another thread with mentions of similar artifacts showing in a vertical column on horizontal wires, but I can't find it at the moment. Bob ETA: In both cases I think the sensor required replacement.
