ganzosrevenge Posted March 29, 2011 Share #1 Posted March 29, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) This is a thread for everyone who has a Leica that's currently at the Doctor's office, be it Sherry, DAG, Youxin, NJ, Solms, etc., Name your camera, what it's in for, and when it's coming home. The purpose is to be a group for those who are without their little german machines and need a place to wait eagerly for their "kid" or "kids" to return. Here's mine. Leicaflex SL with 50mm Cron-R Lens: @ DAG getting overhauled, and shipping tomorrow Body: @ Sherry getting overhauled, and a new meter. Jason
Advertisement Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Hi ganzosrevenge, Take a look here Leica Come Home!. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ismon Posted March 30, 2011 Share #2 Posted March 30, 2011 Redundancy is the answer (although I'm not sure it's the key to sanity). Always have a second camera. Of course two would be better, with a third as back-up. (You can see where this is going.) After a while you will be able to schedule a rotation of servicing your equipment without the stress of missing one (or maybe not). Leica insanity isn't cheap. ganzosrevenge Posted March 30, 2011 Author Share #3 Posted March 30, 2011 I wish I had backup Leicas, alas right now I'm shooting with a Nikon F3HP / 50mm f1.2AIS combo. It's my first Leica, and the lens was a valentine's day present from my girlfriend. I want to keep this pertinent to those who have Leicas and are awaiting their journeys home, or for those whose Leicas are making that journey home.
