No manual focus

Youve installed a beta version or the final firmware 2.0 from Leica website ?

I had the same thing until I re-read the instructions~

After the update is done you need to power off and back on the camera and then go to user profile and select factory setting, once I done this and re-formatted the memory card in camera my MF dial started to work, from what i read elsewhere also the camera functions do not operate properly until the firmware has been deleted of the card, I haven't confirmed this myself though..

Hope this helps :D

Same issue here, but thanks to the forum problem sorted. I'm a little puzzled why the default is to power on in Manual 'Focus Lock". Oh well...

Focus speed seems about the same for me. Not slow, not fast. Not a problem. All in all it's a fantastic little camera and a nice companion to my M8.2.

Same problem here . I think that I have resolved it as per the above suggestions --thank you--but have a lingering worry that there is a bug in there . Also where's the depth of field scale or have I missed something?

I am pretty certain that the power up time on start up is marginally shorter and there is absolutely no doubt that the autofocus speed in low light/low contrast conditions is significantly improved.

It is an improvement but one has to ask why did it take so long and why did they not take the opportunity to fix a few other defects -- such as having a DNG only setting?

they "tweeted" that it is not technically possible in this camera for a DNG only (which leads me to believe that this was not a complete re-write of the firmware)

You have missed something. Your DOF is indicated by the green bar on the scale. Your DOF varies with aperture of course, and thus the length of the green bar will vary as you incease or decrease your aperture setting. Try stopping down from f2.8 to f16. The green bar will extend in length to indicate a greatly expanded DOF. Nice & simple, clever & effective IMHO....
