There are many sensible comments and desires, but I think there will never be an end to desires...when we'll have the x1 with a build in VF and a proper fixed lens will ask for a full frame, than when FF will be available will ask for a video mode, than will be looking for...and later for...

It's a fact of life to always look for improvement but maybe sometimes it is better to consider what we have now and try to get the maximum from it !

Just my thinking which of course could be wrong...

PS. Iìll go out this afternoon and try the behaviour withV2 firmware.

I think I'd prefer an X1 to be honest, which is odd considering that I would usually always go for the newest thing (X100). I just need to try to find a nice used kit now, as I've just missed a couple on a certain auction site which would have been ideal.

Cheers folks

I assume you have been reading through this forum, have you looked at the Fuji X100 forum on Digital Cameras: Digital Photography Review, News, Reviews, Forums, FAQ

It makes interesting reading. They are already compiling a list of fixes they want in the next firmware update, together with bugs and general annoyances and the over complicated menu system

If you want a small, easy to use camera with great IQ, get the X1, which is even better now with V2 firmware. I seriously considered waiting for the X100 before I bought my X1. After reading the X100 forum threads, I'm glad I didn't wait!

Yes, I've been following the issues with the wonky OVF lines etc, and it has taken the sheen off a bit. I've also noticed people complaining about an issue regarding parallax error (inasmuch as the af point selected in the OVF mode does not shift when focus is acquired at close distances, resulting in focus not being where you intended it to be - the frame lines move, but the point of initial focus does/can not). That seems like a really rooky error on the part of Fuji, unless the manual specifically tells you to use the EVF at relatively closer distances and with shallower dof. Kind of obviates the point of the nice OVF though doesn't it.

I'm just keeping my eyes peeled for a nice used example now, so hopefully it'll just be a matter of time.
