colonel Posted March 24, 2011 Share #2 Posted March 24, 2011 Hi all while I await the arrival of my lenses : 1: what is the best Bag to get for the M8 and 2 lenses ( 50mm on the camera and a 90mm in the bag) Im looking for something small and waterproof 2: and which SDHC card is recommended? I am assuming a class 6 or 10 card would be the best? thanks a bunch! I use a Kata DC-433. Could cope with 50mm on and 90mm off but not the other way round (there is a DC-435 which is deeper). (try it yourself as I only take one lens around with me). I like it because it is small, comes with a rain cover, has swivel strap coneectors, so you are never bothered which way you put it on, or which shoulder, and has hard sides, so offers excellent protection. You might like something more like a soft casual like bag - here think-tank and billingham have some nice examples. Its all personal taste In terms of SD, the most lauded are Sandisk and Lexar. Note that its not advisable to buy sandisk on ebay due to the number of fakes. As fast as you can afford, although not sure the M8 can make use of the latest super-fast sandis UHS-1. Personally I use cheap ones branded by my favourite shops, so don't take me for an example

Some of the off-bay retailers have nothing but counterfeits. One that I saw was dim enough to even use a picture of a fake Sandisk in their promotion! Here is a good article on how to detect counterfeit memory cards. Another here.
Jeff S Posted March 25, 2011 Share #4 Posted March 25, 2011 Usually when I recommend using the search function, I also provide at least one link to help. When it comes to 'best bag' or 'perfect bag' for this or that, however, the choices might make my head, or the server, explode. Hope you have at least a few weeks until your equipment arrives, since you may barely get through the threads by then. Just enter some key words (using M8 or M9 or don't specify...all work), start reading, and check back in April. Jeff
