pvak Posted March 23, 2011 Share #1 Â Posted March 23, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just got a notice that Leica is looking to the Leica Forum members to volunteer to be beta testers for upcoming M8/M9 firmware updates. So how come no beta testers needed for the X1? Does that mean that the beta test periopd for the X1 firmware update is over and it will be published soon or that they are not quite at the beta testing stage yet and we can stop holding our breaths?? :-) Peter

andybarton Posted March 23, 2011 Share #2 Â Posted March 23, 2011 Only Leica can answer that, and they are not telling.
JeTexas Posted March 23, 2011 Share #3 Â Posted March 23, 2011 They're asking for M8/M9 users with a wide array of lenses to make sure it works with all possible combinations. The X1 only has one lens -- it either works or it doesn't. Â Besides, maybe they don't want to give it away that they've enabled video on the X1 and set the motorized lens to only extend halfway out to create a super-macro mode.
