phancj Posted March 22, 2011 Author Share #21 Posted March 22, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Savvas, Thanks, I have been to the kennedy space center, liked it a lot. Remembered they refused to turn the centrifuge machine to a faster speed beyond I cant remember 5 or 6 G due to legal implications should I pass out. Together with going on an airboat in the marshes on the same day to look at gators plus managed to spot a pair of bald eagles:) Unlikely I will go there this trip though. In any case, I always buy the tickets to any tourist attraction with the hotel concierge, apart from a slight discount the coach that brings me to and fro is included in the package. Advertisement Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Hi phancj, Take a look here Will be in the States maybe shopping Leica stuff. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Sailronin Posted March 22, 2011 Share #22 Posted March 22, 2011 Hi, Orlando to West Palm Beach (Palm Beach Photographic Center) is about 170 miles. The center has a very nice Pro Shop with a good stock of Leica equipment. Orlando to Hollywood (Dale) is about 220 miles. Dale is a small shop with good selection of Leica gear as well. I would call each and make sure that an M9 is in stock (last week PB Center had a couple in stock and an S1) should you decide to make the drive. Dave PS-the Kennedy Space Center is well worth a visit and only about 50 miles from Orlando.

SteveYork Posted March 23, 2011 Share #24 Posted March 23, 2011 There's an official "Leica Store" in West Palm Beach, Florida. It has been awhile since I've been to Dale's but I believe the store in WPB is more complete. I also believe there's (or was) something in Orlando. South Florida is my home, so I hope you have a good time.

Humood Posted March 23, 2011 Share #26 Posted March 23, 2011 I was in Orlando and miami over the past holiday season, we spent nine days in Orlando, the Leica site lists only one dealer in orlando, Colonial Photo and Hobby, judging from the name, I didn't bother to visit it. Redirecting to shop.cphfun.com But when we went to Miami, I made time to visit all three dealers listed in the Leica site! Forever35 is located in Miami it is in an office building, you enter the "Office" and you are in a small showroom full of stuff, the staff were very helpful. Dale Is in hollywood north of miami, again a small showroom in an "industrial" area I was expecting a huge showroom with an awesome display window , but they had lots of stuff. The pro Shop in West Palm Beach has a lot of interesting stuff. During that time (Dec/Jan 2011) all above dealers were very short on M lenses, Leica original accessories like grips, batteries, etc. so do not expect to enter a huge Leica supermarket anywhere in Florida! and hope you enjoy the magic! phancj Posted March 23, 2011 Author Share #27 Posted March 23, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks Humood I will try to check the stores out...probably spoilt by showrooms here with camera and lenses to try, though not always the case. And convenient locations too. I did see colonial when I made a search and I had the same gut feeling as you. Dale seems to be nice right now, so does west palm beach.
