LuxBob Posted March 21, 2011 Share #1 Â Posted March 21, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) M8 Summicron. This was designed and built by Konrad Zuse in 1938. Okay so I worked for a company that claimed to have built the first computer but this was the first electronic computer and then there was Turing and not to forget the machines built for the American Census and in WW2 for the calculation of artillery trajectories. And wasn't there a Babbage and a Leonardo da Vinci? But Zuse built it, it worked and it is a beautiful piece of engineering.

kokoshawnuff Posted March 22, 2011 Share #2 Â Posted March 22, 2011 Great perspective, it almost looks like an industrial city-scape.

LuxBob Posted March 23, 2011 Author Share #4 Â Posted March 23, 2011 i have to ask . . . this is mechanical computer, right ?is it fluid-mechanical ? Â (i am too lazy to research ) Â It's mechanical, here's another photo, not quite so good I am afraid as (excuse) narrow dof. It reminds me of a construction of a Babbage computer in the Science Museum London, I think. My main interest was in trying to get a photo, as somebody said, making it look like a cityscape.
