eelekim Posted March 26, 2011 Share #101  Posted March 26, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I think a lot of X1 users will jump ship to Fuji but I bet most of them will all come back to the Leica Camp  I bet too. I once wanted to jump. Now I'm back! And love it even more.  Congratulations, kuau! You've made the right choice!!
Advertisement Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Hi eelekim, Take a look here March 18 and no firmware yet. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
h00ligan Posted March 26, 2011 Share #102  Posted March 26, 2011 Well I just purchased Edwards X1, received it today, and I am also excited about new firmware that will hopefully come out soon, though for me, already owning both a M9, and a Pentax 645D, I wanted the smallest high quality camera on the market, and I still think the X1 is it, I was also thinking about the Fuji option., but when I saw the size of it, to me it was to big, and I might as well shoot my M9. So I am happy with my decision. I love my new / used X1, and I agree with other posts I have read here, I think a lot of X1 users will jump ship to Fuji but I bet most of them will all come back to the Leica Camp,  Steven  ps I attached a picture of my "little baby leica" with the optional viewfinder, grip, leather hand grip and Len Coat case.  Looking forward to seeing your shots! It's so sad that I already miss it :/. I w going to the fuji but plans changed. And it just isn't that impressive from what I've seen.
h00ligan Posted March 26, 2011 Share #103 Â Posted March 26, 2011 True. My thoughts were to put more money into a dslr rig. However... The banding on the 5d2 is a very real issue. Fill light to plus eight and it showed first few test shots. Sigh

I always expect a straightforward rendition of scenes I shoot with a new camera, and am always surprised to find that I need to "learn" the new rig to get the best results. h00ligan Posted March 26, 2011 Share #106 Â Posted March 26, 2011 Very true Bob. I was surprised that the banding was so visible with such a tiny push, but it's my first full frame, maybe it's less forgiving? I think perhaps it's model specific.. Â Anyway, it's all tradeoffs and learning as you said. Â @allnm, could very well be. Should that be the case my nephew is coming over from England next month, I'll have him order and register one there most likey...passport warranty is better and it's cheaper. Â I asked jsrockitand would invite any others to do a before and after video. It will be very interesting to see if speed or mfd are even 10% better. Guest badbob Posted March 26, 2011 Share #107 Â Posted March 26, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Good suggestions here. I'm going to try to remember to do some before and after JPEG's of control subjects I've used before, indoors and out.

I've heard of these things, but it shouldn't happen except under unusual conditions. Try different lenses and see what happens. Did you use a lens hood? h00ligan Posted March 27, 2011 Share #109  Posted March 27, 2011 No hood bob! It was in a small room lit with a bright lamp...I'm going to try to expose to the right and ill back instead..but then it's higher iso time. I was juts shocked that not only noise showed, but banding at +8 fill. Maybe copy variation ?

Ecaton Posted March 28, 2011 Share #112 Â Posted March 28, 2011 Just read Sean Reid's review. Leica put a lot of thought into improving MF functionality, great stuff. Being able to set and lock focus at a desired distance is similar to Ricoh's snap mode (with the Leica solution providing even more flexibility), great for street shooting.
