Hi All, I’m thinking of adding the X1 to my Leica stable, I already use the delightful DL4 with the Large Universal Leica V/Finder.. Will the finder fit on the X!? I know I will not be able to use the flash when it is attached, but will it inhibit using any other controls?

Sure the LUL viewfinder will fit the X1 but it will not be useful to you in that role. It covers focal lengths of 21-24-28mm which apply to full-frame cameras like the M9. You need a viewfinder which shows 35mm field of view, or more precisely, 36mm as the excellent X1 finder does. Some users opt for the cheaper Voigtlander equivalent finder. However, the camera is perfectly usable without an external finder, though less so in bright sunlight.

I have a Vidom and a Russian Kiev turret type, the turret does interfere with the flash coming up fully, but it still fires and seems ok.

I suppose if I file a bit off the top of the flash and a bit off the side of the viewfinder, it should come up fully.........
