kavenzmann Posted March 13, 2011 Share #1 Posted March 13, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello everybody, as I have the M-Rokkor 28/2,8 which I like a lot, I want to have the above mentioned problem repaired. I read a lot of different stories about it. Some say its a problem in the coating of the front-element. Kind of tiny bubbles. Some say its some kind of lens-kit, that brakes out of the original lens-mounting. I am not sure what it is. Some people say its not fixable either, some say it cn be fixed, if it has not gone to far, as it was fixed by Minolta some years ago. Who knows more about that? Is there some special Repair-Shop for that problem in or near Germany? THX Kavenzmann

Xmas Posted March 16, 2011 Share #2 Posted March 16, 2011 Hi If the spots are small as a % of surface area, it wont have much effect. If they are large as a % or the cosmetics annoy you, you could try a recoating service as the re-coaters have to remove the top layer of glass to provide a 'key' for the hardcoat, and this should clear spots, if they are not etched too deep. But this is expensive, especially if they have to separate elements... Repolishing & re-coating a SUMMAR f2 front optic Alternatively get another free from spots, or a Asph Elmarit, Konica, or CV f/3.5 LTM, Canon f/2.8 LTM, Kobalux, etc., ... all small lenses only the Canon is single coated. tobey bilek Posted March 17, 2011 Share #3 Posted March 17, 2011 Repolishing a lens will ruin it. Do only if it is totally gone and you can not replace it.
