I went down to Focus on Wednesday of last week. Was really keen to pick up a bag that would take my M9 and three lenses. I had researched various makes but thought a Kata bag would be the one for me following a strong recomendation from a colleague.

I had a really good look at the Kata stand and yes they had some nice bags but then I came across the Billingham stand and that was it. There was just something about the feel and the way my camera and lenses sat in it that convinced me to spend the extra money.

Looking forward to many years of use.

Cheers John

John, I went to Focus last week and came back with my first Leica, and now looking for a bag. Have good experience with Billingham bags and still have a couple of their larger bags. Can I ask what Billingham bag you chose for your Leica?

I've had a Billingham 'Leica' bag in khaki for a couple of years and it's perfect for the M9 and two lenses. I added on the end bags for a bit of extra room recently for travel and these balance the bag quite nicely. In fact, I bought the black version as well - my wife thinks I'm crazy but I keep telling her that you can't have enough bags

My khaki Hadley is years old, a shad shoddy with "experience" but still quite functional. More to quiet my wife "you're not taking that dirty old thing (bag not wife) with us are you?

" I went off in search of a replacement. I'd figured a twin in black would solve the problem.

Then I found the "photo eventer" - a tad larger, much plusher with the leather bottom, and

a bit more expensive. The plus side is it should give me room for an extra lens or two if

I ever needed it. (Maybe the new 35mm f1.2 VL?) My next challenge will be to find a

replacement for my Ghurka suit carrier - also khaki, stained, well travelled and well worn.

I use a couple of Billingham's myself.

For most things I use the L-2. It was once called the "Alice" (same letters as your favorite camera). It will hold two cameras and a few lenses plus the front pocket.

Recently I bought the Digital Hadley. It's great for a M9 with a lens on it, plus two other lenses. Not a lot of extra space for lunch or a water bottle, but the small size is great.

I've also looked at the Pola for just a camera and lens.
