jippiejee Posted March 11, 2011 Share #1  Posted March 11, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) For my upcoming trip I'd like to add a sun hood to my Leica X1 camera. I already found a nice one, but now it appears difficult to get myself the much needed extension through an adapter tube. Amazon USA sells them:  Amazon.com: RainbowImaging 49MM Filter Adapter Tube for Leica X1 12.2MP APS-C CMOS Digital Camera: Camera & Photo  but doesn't appear to ship to Europe. Did anyone of you ever find anything similar through a European dealer? Thanks if you can help me with a lead.

barjohn Posted March 12, 2011 Share #6 Â Posted March 12, 2011 How do you get it in your pocket?
ChiILX1 Posted March 12, 2011 Share #7 Â Posted March 12, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I take the tube off. Â The x1 is a great dailyshooter and is perfect for the pocket (better than the X100 *GASP*). But if I know I'm going to a festival or shooting all day or on a photowalk, I appreciate the filters, the hood, etc. Â It's actually cool that the camera has both ontologies. I must say this tube /filter/hood combo is great.
jippiejee Posted March 13, 2011 Author Share #8 Â Posted March 13, 2011 How do you get it in your pocket? Â Â this is just a screw-on protection. easily removed after a day traveling around, or walking through a town when i am using my neckstrap anyway for easy access. it's nice to not have to remove the lens cap now before taking a shot, saves you some time too. ChiILX1 Posted March 17, 2011 Share #9 Â Posted March 17, 2011 Has anyone tried the 49mm Hoya Macro lens filters on this combo with results to share?
paulpp Posted March 24, 2011 Share #10 Â Posted March 24, 2011 As a very very new X1 owner an interested in this. Is it just a friction fit onto the X1? Have previously used a similar one on the D-Lux4 and seem to recall that screwed onto the camera body?
