J_Brittenson Posted January 27, 2007 Share #21 Posted January 27, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Guy. Tom Abrahamsson is working on an M8 grip. I've used his existing grip on my M6 for the last 5 years or so and have been very, very happy with it. Can't wait for Tom's since I'm not too fond of the Leica one, although I don't have it so perhaps it would grow on me. I do hope he makes it an extension of its own bottom plate and doesn't try to attach it to the tripod socket. If he did that he could mill a groove around the edge of the bottom, with an optional O-ring to go around it to make the camera a little more impact proof. kepstein Posted January 27, 2007 Share #22 Posted January 27, 2007 What about something like the Sling? Take a look at: http://www.leicagoodies.com/ Select the Sling. The company is termporarily out of business.
stunsworth Posted January 27, 2007 Share #23 Posted January 27, 2007 What about something like the Sling? Seems a good way to have two broken fingers if someone grabs the camera out of your hand :-)
mr_big Posted January 28, 2007 Share #24 Posted January 28, 2007 I found that the grip is too awkward for me to use. It puts my index finger too far away from the shutter release.
hetoog Posted October 13, 2009 Share #25 Posted October 13, 2009 M80Grip I have done some simple cutting and come up with this solution: MIGHTYGRIP M80Grip MIGHTYGRIP
wda Posted October 13, 2009 Share #26 Posted October 13, 2009 Like most accessories, there is a 'bedding in' process. I have Leica grips on all my Ms and could not manage without them. I simply could not risk holding the camera with my occasionally arthritic right hand. Even without that reason, I find the grip affords a much more stable 'hold' when shooting. While I agree that the M8 version could be refined, I really couldn't get too excited about an alternative.

gravastar Posted October 14, 2009 Share #28 Posted October 14, 2009 will the m8 grip fit on the m9?Thanks Dennis The standard Leica M8 grips do fit on the M9 since the base plate is the same for both cameras. I've used an M8 grip on an M9. Bob.
