Chicago Leica photowalk?

I'm a big fan of Leica, Chicago, and photowalks with interesting foci.

In the past, I've gone on photowalks with friends for topics such as "urban decay," "Christmas cheer," "Weather" and others, and then we post our pictures in a group on Flickr. The shoot is great for talking cameras, composition methods, PP, and anything related really- just to have a camera break that doesn't involve obsessive internet trolling. The Flickr group is great to discuss the results in a constructive way. We could even make it a challenge with some minimal prize like a key chain one of us could design, by voting on the top three through Flickr or something.

If you are in Chicago and would like to join, post your ideas on a photowalk focus! Once we've chosen one everyone really likes then we can talk technicalities such as place and time.

Cheers!

I'm all for it ! If you get a lot of other bites on this idea, perhaps it would be best to break the walk into subgroups of from 2 to no more than 4 for a more discrete appearance. Maybe there could be a subsequent meeting time and place for the whole group.

Sounds good! To pick a place let's first pick a shooting topic. One I've always wanted to do but haven't known where to go is "Chicago palimpsests"- buildings where it's clear they have been retooled for new uses. Old faded signs are another one of my favorites but are few and far between.

I'm just suggesting these to jump start ideas. We can always shoot whatever once we get there, but starting with a focus is always fun.
