paulmichaelsnr Posted February 26, 2011 Share #1 Posted February 26, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have a filter on my f4 90mm (1936) Elmar which I can't identity. It is a slip on mount (39mm) and is marked GERMANY E. LEITZ N.Y. SL. It has a tightening screw to hold it in place. Any help gratefully received. Nicoleica Posted February 26, 2011 Share #2 Posted February 26, 2011 I believe that this is an early Skylight filter. If it's in good condition it should still be useable, although it would be of better use with film, rather than digital, as it has a mild warming effect. Also, a filter of this vintage will not have any modern anti-reflection coatings on it.
paulmichaelsnr Posted February 26, 2011 Author Share #3 Posted February 26, 2011 So, SL would stand for Skylight, then?
Nicoleica Posted February 26, 2011 Share #4 Posted February 26, 2011 Yes. That's my understanding.
