snail tracks!

Ece,

Yesterday I thought I was looking for small tracks. Today I see that I should have been looking for snail tracks. Poor me. If you can figure out a way to isolate the stump and the tracks from all that foliage I would like it even more..........but I am but a frozen soul on the Northern Plain.

the color version is "prettier" and more nature-like, but I like this one more because it is more "edgy" as an image.

(i didn't actually know that snails left tracks ! . . . . gotta get out more)

Paul, Al, and Dave,

I appreciate your input on this, more than you might think. I've struggled with this pair (I actually have a set). I have a long history of struggle with snails in my garden.....so...they hold a special place in my heart, shall we say? :p

This was in the late afternoon light, just golden, and the tracks were literally glistening, i.e. fresh. And, yes, ultimately I found the little guy on the other side of the stump (but didn't touch it since this was out in the wild). I considered how best to handle all this and tried a few things. The ambiguity continued as I processed the images. BW or color? Crop or not? ....etc. I could not get the tracks to pop and glisten like they actually were. I don't have the technique. How does one accomplish that?

Your feedback helps me refocus and reconsider. It's much appreciated.

Ece
