I have been thinking of getting a X1. However, there seems to be a awful amount of barely used one`s on eBay and other sites!

So I ask why are people selling so soon after purchase:cool:??

how can you be sure they're barely used? someone asked recently how to check on number of actuations, and there appears to be none. i did buy on ebay, however - but a model sold by popflash and described as a refurb - came with a one-year warranty and the right to download lightroom (which i already had).

what amazes me is that the used price - without a warranty - generally continues to be within striking range of the new price. i think maybe one has to start thinking of the x1 as a leica lens with some unusual stuff wrapped around it.

Yes, someone on this forum complained there was no interchangeable lens so that needs to go up there too

No, that wont do. Unless X100 has interchangeable lens. From what I read so far, the X100 IS the perfect camera.

time to go to dpreview and read the latest from someone claiming to be a pro user who apparently got his hands on the prototype and is unhappy with the viewfinder and shutter lag. says iq is to die for, however.

Sounds pretty fishy since you can use an OVF... even if you don't care for the refresh of the million + pixel evf.

I'll have to go find that and give it a read. He opens up with 'having used the prototype'

Edward,

As far as I can tell from the ongoing threads, the x100 is perfect.

well that takes us back to the topic of the thread - the price of x1s on ebay will certainly drop and their number will increase in light of the perfection of the x100.

meanwhile, some of us still expect leica to produce a worthy firmware update.

by the way, steve huff's front page today is a short revisit of the x1 - including photos - for anyone interested.

Because they are blind snobbish buyers who did not read the technical details nor the price :-)
