Is the new X1 a quality upgrade standard than the X1 Steel-grey?

I haven't read anywhere that black ones are better made than grey ones, but after more than a year of production, one would expect that the slight glitches in the early production runs will have been ironed out.

I'd pay more attention to serial number than colour from that point of view. It is as Andy says, entirely logical that improvements have been introduced into the production run as time has gone on. There is always a price to being an early adopter

This is why it often pays to be a "late adopter". In my experience, buying a V1 of any consumer product isn't the bast policy, whether it be cameras, computers, iPhones, cars or whatever.

+ 1!

Coming back to this old topic, which for me is now current as I'm buying a (preferably silver) X1 tomorrow : what serial number would be high enough as second or third production batch number? Thank you to anyone who could give me a clue!

Any people out there with a silver X1 with a still fully intact skin ??? Can I get your serial number?
