I am thinking of purchasing something from the Kata range, maybe the waist bag. I do a lot of walking with my wife so would like something not too bulky and easy to access. Can anybody let me know if they are using the bags from the Kata range and how you are getting on with them. It is pretty tight and it may not be enough if your lenses are large. I use it with a 50mm Summilux (latest pre-ASPH, which is smaller than the current ASPH one), a 28mm Elmarit-M ASPH (which is tiny), and a 35mm Nokton 1.4 (a small lens with a large hood). The MP with these lenses fit in the 435, but anything larger will need more room (e.g., the DC-439, which I also have and use if I need extra room for film). I take the 439 for trips away from home, but for everyday use the 435 is adequate. Both of these bags have side pockets which I use for a mini-tripod, a filter or two, cell phone, etc. Overall, I like the Kata bags, strong, protective, plus they come the rain cover. The only thing I find annoying is the huge strap, but I replaced that with a cloth one from a Domke FX-5B. Savvas Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Many thanks - John John, I think your 3-lens + camera set should fit in the 435, which makes for a very compact package. Savvas P.S. How do you like the 50mm ASPH? I'm in another one of these phases where I'm considering trading my pre-ASPH (46mm, latest) for the ASPH one. Sometimes I really like to have a bit more "bite" to the image at 1.4. Kata gear is well made and well thought out. My Leica gear rides in the Thinktank Urban Disguise bags. They are very strong and made even better than the Kata bags, IMO. The pockets and zips are plentiful and I carry the UD 30 everywhere. Oddly, it has attracted attention from my non-photographer friends who immediately noticed that I had a new bag! dickgrafixstop Posted March 10, 2011 Share #8 Posted March 10, 2011 I'd have to throw in the Think Tank "speed demon" - great for walk-arounds and will certainly fit all your kit.
