rcoles Posted February 18, 2011 Share #1 Posted February 18, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I use my tripod for some of my landscapes, architectural, details, patterns, macro, panoramas, low light, and night shooting. I found that my Markins Q3 Ball Head (a very nice small ball head) did not give me the control I wanted. After a lot of research I have moved to the Induro PHQ1 5-way Panhead a good blend of ball head and panhead capabilities. A big plus was the heads Arca-Swiss compatibility. It also has several bubble levels to help level the camera. I now can fine tune my composition and put the camera in the best position to make the shot with a lot of flexibility and at the same time still have a fairly small and light tripod head. It is not a geared head I found most of them to be way too heavy. In addition to the M9 it works well with my spotting scope, my macro and telephoto DSLR gear and can also be used for video but is not as good as a fluid head. peter_n Posted February 27, 2011 Share #2 Posted February 27, 2011 A lot of people like the Induro. Whether it can take a lot of heavy use remains to be seen. I also use a Q3 and I'm keeping my eye on reports.
