Advertisement Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Hi wayfieldbear, Take a look here LCD protection for X1. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
spylaw4 Posted February 16, 2011 Share #2 Â Posted February 16, 2011 Ac-Maxx make a clear polycarbonate protector; discrete, simple, economical.
phancj Posted February 16, 2011 Share #3 Â Posted February 16, 2011 Mine's a mobile phone screen protector trimmed to size, which came with my htc hd. 2 pieces was supplied so one went on the phone the other on the X1. it is the thicker variety and IMO accords nice protection without any degradation to LCD visibility. Â Had it on my X1 for a year, no problems whatsoever and still pristine. Â CJ
eelekim Posted February 16, 2011 Share #4 Â Posted February 16, 2011 I've got Giottos SP 8270 recently. Fits quite well. Don't know how well it protects the LCD yet. Heard good comments from other users though. You may try to search in this forum. It's a topic raised more than once before.
h00ligan Posted February 16, 2011 Share #5 Â Posted February 16, 2011 I had the acmaxxx before and it was good, but left a 'wet spot' look where the plastic/glass was not rigid enough. There's no damage or liquid, it just doesn't sit above, and when it touches it makes it look like there's a drop of water in there. Â Since then I switched to the giottos, and honestly, pay the extra $10 over the acmaxxx, it's well worth it (though it is more sensitive to fingerprints than the acmaxxx) imo. Â I had also ordered the GGS, which didn't fit properly on the x1, it was a touch too small, so it was never mounted. Full disclosure, the ggs I ordered was from ebay and shipped from china - it may have been a knockoff. Â Overall, I wasted some money on the way to the global concencus, which seems to be that giottos (mentioned above) is the best... I'd have to concur having ordered 3. Â I do not care for the invisible shield / ghost armor sort of wraps on camera screens for a few reasons. Yellowing, requirement of wet application to get a good fit, lack of impact protection (scratch only), difficulty installing (much easier on a cell phone imo), etc... though I use them regularly on other devices. Allnm Posted February 16, 2011 Share #6 Â Posted February 16, 2011 I like the GGS protectors, I hve them on my other cameras but couldnt find one to fit my X1 at first. I read that the Sony A350 protector will fit, and it does. Its a little wider than the actual screen but will fit nicely and also covers the raised plastic surround to the right of the screen. Top to bottom it is a perfect fit. The GGS protector has a black border round it and the clear portion exactly fits the X1 screen. Only bad point is that A300/350 is printed in small lettering at the bottom. I am out at the moment but could put an image up later of the protector in place on my X1. Ecaton Posted February 16, 2011 Share #8 Â Posted February 16, 2011 I use the Giotto SP8270. Fits and holds perfectly. Among others, B&H sells it.
