meakai Posted February 13, 2011 Share #1 Posted February 13, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just purchased a 90mm f/2.8 M on eBay. Do I need to code it for my M8? If so, what should I know about codes?
Advertisement Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Hi meakai, Take a look here Coding for 90mm Elmarit M. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
adan Posted February 13, 2011 Share #2 Posted February 13, 2011 Only needs coding if you want to see the lens type listed in EXIF data - the images will be fine with no coding.

jamesk8752 Posted February 15, 2011 Share #4 Posted February 15, 2011 I just purchased a 90mm f/2.8 M on eBay. Do I need to code it for my M8? If so, what should I know about codes? If you have not already found it, here is a useful resource for Leica 6-bit lens codes: Leica M Lens Codes Although it has minimal if any effect on images made with lenses of focal length longer than 35mm, I have coded my M lenses in order to have lens data appear in the EXIF files.
