Hey guys, back on topic, i just bought a (near) mint m6 classic! It has some tiny marks on those black plastic things on the side. I can live with that :-) I have an appointment with a store to sell my m8 maybe trade it for a nice lens. So it is official. I just dropped digital.

Can't wait to get my hands dirty again and souping all different kinds of film. :-)

I tried, for the first time, back in november to develope my own film, just to try it. I love it. Since then I have sold my M9 in december, that I had owned for over a year, shot over 10.000 images, thought I would never part with it. I have not looked back. I absolutely love every part of the workflow with film. A new found inspiration, a totally new way of taking images that I never expected to like. So much fun.

I jus love to hear stories like this! No because it confirms my decision and the way I look at this topic but I also detect a different kind of passion with people who went back to film. Might be wrong about this but I think you fall in love with the whole proces of photography not just taking the shot.

Well, perhaps I am on the slippery slope, but at the moment I have one foot in each camp, so to speak (cue comments about splits, painful endings etc etc). The new M7 arrived this morning and a consignment of film, chemicals and darkroom bits'n'bobs should arrive Wed or Thurs. Let play commence! :)

You still have far to travel on your journey, young Padawan...

Great combo! If I would have the money I would consider to get an M9 on the side. Just because it's convenient. ... maybe...

Awesome!

I am not a digital hater but just love film and the resulting silver gelatin prints... BTW, this article (http://www.rangefindermag.com/storage/articles/RF0211_Valladares_Perkins.pdf) on my philosophy and insight from my point of view as a business owner in a very competitive industry was just published in Rangefinder Magazine.

Enjoy your journey back to the analog world and keep us posted!

On 3 hours of sleep :D:D:D

Don't worry Riccis - we know what you mean. ;)

As for me, I pretty much grew-up with digital, tried b&w a bit when I was at university (a nice darkroom - but I was there about four times - drinking beer seemed to be a more attractive option most of the time) and tried a few rolls of Kodachrome on holidays with my dad's old OM1n. But otherwise digital is pretty much all I knew until the last few years.

Still love what can be done with my M8, but there's definitely something missing that no amount of digital post-processing can replace.
