Advertisement Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 Hi Charlie Johnson, Take a look here Might dump digital,.... I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Charlie Johnson Posted February 12, 2011 Share #82 Posted February 12, 2011 I tried the tape this afternoon. I only had blue gaffer tape which gave the frame-lines a cute blue tinge. The tape was not a cure, but a workable solution. So a nice tip, thanks.
pico Posted February 12, 2011 Share #83 Posted February 12, 2011 Everyone should have an M2. The fashion is to have one the same age as you Bummer. The M2 was introduced 12 years after my birth.
biglouis Posted February 13, 2011 Share #84 Posted February 13, 2011 For what it is worth, I still regret selling my M7. It needed to have the DX reader done and I would have liked to get the MP finder installed. Maybe when I retire and I have more time...
WarriorJazz Posted February 14, 2011 Author Share #85 Posted February 14, 2011 Hey guys, back on topic, i just bought a (near) mint m6 classic! It has some tiny marks on those black plastic things on the side. I can live with that :-) I have an appointment with a store to sell my m8 maybe trade it for a nice lens. So it is official. I just dropped digital. Can't wait to get my hands dirty again and souping all different kinds of film. :-)

Eastgreenlander Posted February 15, 2011 Share #89 Posted February 15, 2011 I tried, for the first time, back in november to develope my own film, just to try it. I love it. Since then I have sold my M9 in december, that I had owned for over a year, shot over 10.000 images, thought I would never part with it. I have not looked back. I absolutely love every part of the workflow with film. A new found inspiration, a totally new way of taking images that I never expected to like. So much fun. No because it confirms my decision and the way I look at this topic but I also detect a different kind of passion with people who went back to film. Might be wrong about this but I think you fall in love with the whole proces of photography not just taking the shot.
Keith (M) Posted February 15, 2011 Share #91 Posted February 15, 2011 Well, perhaps I am on the slippery slope, but at the moment I have one foot in each camp, so to speak (cue comments about splits, painful endings etc etc). The new M7 arrived this morning and a consignment of film, chemicals and darkroom bits'n'bobs should arrive Wed or Thurs. Let play commence! Welcome, dear visitor! Riccis Posted February 16, 2011 Share #96 Posted February 16, 2011 Awesome! I am not a digital hater but just love film and the resulting silver gelatin prints... BTW, this article (http://www.rangefindermag.com/storage/articles/RF0211_Valladares_Perkins.pdf) on my philosophy and insight from my point of view as a business owner in a very competitive industry was just published in Rangefinder Magazine. Enjoy your journey back to the analog world and keep us posted!
redbaron Posted February 16, 2011 Share #97 Posted February 16, 2011 "I am not a digital hater but just love film..." is actually quite a profound statement, if you think about it. I don't hate fast food, but I sure do love a good meal in a nice restaurant.

plasticman Posted February 16, 2011 Share #100 Posted February 16, 2011 On 3 hours of sleep :D:D Don't worry Riccis - we know what you mean. As for me, I pretty much grew-up with digital, tried b&w a bit when I was at university (a nice darkroom - but I was there about four times - drinking beer seemed to be a more attractive option most of the time) and tried a few rolls of Kodachrome on holidays with my dad's old OM1n. But otherwise digital is pretty much all I knew until the last few years. Still love what can be done with my M8, but there's definitely something missing that no amount of digital post-processing can replace.
