sfage Posted February 3, 2011 Share #1 Posted February 3, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi everyone It appears that my SL2 meter is going intermittent. Sometimes if I fire the shutter it starts working again. Sometimes it doesn't. I presume this is a situation where I need to send it off to the plant in NJ. Does anyone know the approximate cost and turn-around time? Second thing: the VF seems to be a bit funky too. Or, maybe it's my left eye. I recently purchased a 45 degree VF and I am able to -more- critically focus. I'm not deeply in love with using the 45 degree angle finder but it gets me where I need to be. Is there some sort of adjustment that can be done with an SL2's VF?

wildlightphoto Posted February 3, 2011 Share #2 Posted February 3, 2011 Sherry Krauter and Dog Goldberg do excellent work on the SL2. Regarding the viewfinder, I started using a +0.5 diopter correction lens on my SL2 after my 40th birthday and it made a very big difference.
sfage Posted February 3, 2011 Author Share #3 Posted February 3, 2011 Hmm... thanks for that Doug. Can you show me which diopter you bought? In other words which manufacturer... or is this something that has to be installed in the body?
wildlightphoto Posted February 3, 2011 Share #4 Posted February 3, 2011 The diopter correction lens is a Leica part for R bodies. DAG or Sherry Krauter might have one on hand.
