Film Processing, Time and Quality

I went to my post box today and there was the small bubble package from my photo lab in in Hollywood, CA. I then checked the tear off receipt and found I mailed it on January 16. This is January 31. Two weeks turn around time for my roll of Agfa 100 chromes. I had used one of my R 6.2's and my 35-70 f 4 zoom. Now understand I'm not shooting professionally anymore, i.e., charging. Now it's my turn to just have fun with my M's and R's. I don't know how many of members live in the US or the rest of the big blue marble. I consider it fortunate living in the Southwest which puts me only 2 states from CA. My film from NYC (B&H) and my development and processing, enlarging or other wants in CA. I'm going to post a few of my street chromes in my Leica gallery section.

I am glad you are happy with the service, but it is not particularly remarkable. In the Midwest we have companies like Gamma in Chicago. Same or better. I've been using them off-and-on since 1970. They are most excellent.

Pico, I used to live in Chicago in another age and life. Where I live now, near the border with Mexico, we don't even have a camera store. Ergo I have no choice but to use the mails, so I'm happy with what I'm offered.

There is no real camera store within 120 miles of my home in Minnesota. I once lived in downtown Chicago, in a building behind the Hancock building. Sometimes it was almost as fast to mail orders to Gamma as it is to do the same from here.

Oh, and later I lived in Roswell, NM. :)

We both use mail-order from time-to-time.
