terence fairweather Posted January 29, 2011 Share #1 Posted January 29, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, Does anyone know how the X1 compares to the Digilux 2? What I specificaly mean is in terms of AF speed and write times etc. I have had a Digilux 2 some time ago and was wondering if any of you guys have experienced both? Thanks Terry. Advertisement Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 Hi terence fairweather, Take a look here X1 Versus Digilux 2. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
carlosecpf Posted February 1, 2011 Share #2 Posted February 1, 2011 I used to have both cameras and I the Digilux 2 AF is MUCH faster than the one available in the X1. There is no comparison. Of course, as expected, the overall IQ offered by the X1 smokes the one provided by the Digilux 2. However, I sold the X1 and kept a Digilux 2 (actually is a Lumix LC-1). It turned out that its IQ was good enough for me and the overall handling and responsiveness of the camera suited better my shooting style (candids and street). wda Posted February 2, 2011 Share #3 Posted February 2, 2011 Terry, I have both cameras and use both cameras. The D2 gives me more pleasure in use, but the X1 gives me significantly superior results, despite being one stop slower at full aperture. The D2 lens is stunning for its age. So, my D2 essentially stays at home these days and sees plenty of use for personal projects and family pictures. The X1 is my travel camera, despite its fixed focal length lens. Often the X1 is a companion to my digital M.
Douglasco Posted February 2, 2011 Share #4 Posted February 2, 2011 I agree with WDA. I do the same thing

leic Posted February 12, 2011 Share #6 Posted February 12, 2011 I bought an X1 today :-) For me the most important was the image quality !!! Look at the test shot that I take some days ago outside the shop It is original size, so zoom in to look at the details: http://www.realwebprojects.de/L1000060.jpg The lens resolution is ok, isn't it? This is the third thread where you've asked the same question (maybe the 4th thread). Why do you keep doing that?
