prk60091 Posted February 19, 2011 Share #42  Posted February 19, 2011 Hi: I’m using the embedded profile and the main reason is why not? I really do not see the difference with the Adobe Standard profile, which is the generic one. I also use NX2 as the raw converter for the D700 and D7000.  I spent part of the day yesterday working with CS5 ACR and Bridge. I am a RAW shooter until now, because I’ve decided to go the JPEG route with the X1. LR3 is my main software and cannot easily incorporate it in the workflow. I select the photos, manage the libraries, upload to SmugMug, and print from LR3. In addition, there is no way I can get away from TIFF files because all the CS5 plugins, which include all the Nik Software programs; Viveza 2 is my main PP program.  Best regards,  Hektor  i took a look at your photo albums- you have a good eye Hektor, and the JPG's the X1 produce are spectacular.- you won't be disappointed. I stopped shooting in RAW once I saw what the JPG"s are capable of..  a few curve adjustments in pixelmator are usually all I need. i stopped using Lightroom almost immediately after registering the product

For half the shots there's no discernible difference, for others under "adobe standard" sometimes you have overexposure and sometimes the colors just look different under the 2 profiles. Really strange.  But having used LR/X1 for a while I find "embedded" safer in the sense that it gets everything more "right" than "adobe standard" in certain shots.  For nikon I also use NX2 then to PS/Niks suite coz I find NX2 most competent in getting colors right for nikons. IMO raw converters by cam manufacturers tend to be the best coz they know the cam well. Too bad leica went with LR.  CJ
