jrethorst Posted January 20, 2011 Share #1 Posted January 20, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) While I appreciate the discussion of several software programs here, I've decided to work specifically with Photoshop CS3, just like I've sold other cameras and work only with my Digilux 2. Can anyone recommend a Photoshop forum?
Advertisement Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 Hi jrethorst, Take a look here Best Photoshop forum?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
01af Posted January 20, 2011 Share #2 Posted January 20, 2011 See the Adobe User-to-User Forums ... there are many sections, including (but not limited to) Photoshop, Bridge, Camera Raw, and Lightroom.
wda Posted January 20, 2011 Share #3 Posted January 20, 2011 From time-to-time I have used the Adobe forum but it mainly serves as a trouble-shooting forum rather than general chit-chat. However there are other parts of the Adobe site with excellent tutorials etc. If you have the time it would be worthwhile exploring those aspects and suggested links. Try Googling Photoshop forums and you will find other third-party sites which can be useful. There is a wealth of news and advice available if you have time to search and explore. Shootist Posted January 20, 2011 Share #4 Posted January 20, 2011 Problem is that CS3 is what 3-4 years old. I doubt you will find any new relevant discussions on that version of Photoshop. The Adobe forum is the place to start. But you might also look into some of the old tutorial websites.
jrethorst Posted January 21, 2011 Author Share #5 Posted January 21, 2011 Problem is that CS3 is what 3-4 years old. I doubt you will find any new relevant discussions on that version of Photoshop. Exactly. I should have mentioned in the original post that I found that the Adobe forums were mostly directed towards latest versions, while CS3 is really and truly all I need. I don't even need that much, but don't regret buying it (my Mac is also a PPC, which is also just fine, but which I doubt would support the current Photoshop). So I've googled "Photoshop forum", getting 85,000,000 hits. Some of those links are to forums . . . I was hoping for a recommendation from someone's experience. 01af Posted January 21, 2011 Share #6 Posted January 21, 2011 ... I found that the Adobe forums were mostly directed towards latest versions ... They're not. The discussions are mostly directed towards the latest versions ... naturally. In other image-processing or Photoshop-oriented forums, it won't be any different. But of course you can discuss any version there (or elsewhere). Luminous Landscape also has forums about specific raw converters (including Camera Raw, Lightroom, Aperture, and Capture One) as well as general photography, image-processing, and printing forums. Can anyone recommend a Photoshop forum? Definitely NAPP, National Association of Photoshop Professionals (Scott kelby's brainchild). Best $99 dollars a year you can spend regarding Photoshop. Great Magazine (now available online through Zinio and great discounts on everything from free shipping through B&H and on software. Their Forum has an area specific towards CS3 as well. https://www.photoshopuser.com/members/
