Summar CLA

Hi JC,

Being relatively new to Leica RF, this thread has been a wonderful educational tool for me.

I always wondered what exactly the qualified technicians LHSA Repair Services do when they perform a CLA. Here is my guess:

• initial inspection

• take the lens apart to some degree

• replace damaged parts if possible, repair (for additional fee)

• clean everything mechanical

• clean glass surfaces; remove haze, fungus to the degree possible (for additional fee?)

• lubricate all moving parts

• put the lens back together

• adjust focusing

• final inspection

Or something like that. Please correct me where I am wrong.

Thanks. Best, K-H.

You guess well Karl-Heinz.

But what I illustrated here is more a DIY than a sophiticated apparatus used for working on modern lenses by people that are educated and graduated for this job.

Quite all the lenses from the beginning to +/- the 70's are reachable to a mechanical mind.
