Nickers Posted January 9, 2011 Share #1 Posted January 9, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, This was taken in the engine shed at the Bluebell railway at Sheffield Park, East Sussex. M9, 75 Summicron (1st) and 35mm Summilux (2nd & 3rd), ISO160, 32sec exposure. It was dark in there! Converted to B&W in Aperture. Thanks, Nick
Advertisement Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Hi Nickers, Take a look here Bluebell. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
euston Posted January 9, 2011 Share #2 Posted January 9, 2011 I wasn’t sure what to expect when I saw a Bluebell thread in the technology section but I’m glad I looked in. You got the exposure just right for revealing the detail that makes steam locomotives such appealing subjects. It would have been easy to over-sharpen these images but the M9 doesn't need too much and, to my eye, you judged it right. And you’ve done the conversion very nicely. Good job! likalar Posted January 11, 2011 Share #5 Posted January 11, 2011 Excellent views of these components, and your strong tones, rich light and fine detail are a good match for the heavy, robust assemblies. Congrats! On second view, I appreciate that the parts are still in a fine state of usage, which is so much better than shots of over-restored museum trains.
