StS Posted January 8, 2011 Share #1 Posted January 8, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Mojave desert, California. I have the feeling photos of deserts need clouds to add scale to the teriffic size of the landscape. Unfortunately, clouds are rather difficult to come by in deserts (best chances at dusk or dawn). Tmax400, Yellow filter, 24mm Elmarit, M6 Thank you for your interest Stefan

StS Posted January 9, 2011 Author Share #4 Posted January 9, 2011 Thank you very much and happy new year to you as well, Robert and Henry. Small correction - I actually used BW400, not Tmax400... Stefan

Bob Jackson Posted January 9, 2011 Share #6 Posted January 9, 2011 Very dramatic and nice photo in a very tough place to shoot. I find myself in PP using a lot of Red filters and sometimes a combo of Blue to darken the sky and punch up what clouds might be hanging on out there; but then I'm shooting a digital M8. allamande Posted January 11, 2011 Share #11 Posted January 11, 2011 Stefan, You did very good, I'd say. And, you were lucky because even at sunrise or sunset it is hard to see any clouds in the Mojave. The last few years have been a bit tricky in terms of weather patterns and things are a bit more unpredictable nowadays. Ece
