JeTexas Posted January 4, 2011 Share #1 Posted January 4, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Ok guys, I finally conquered the $20 do-it-yourself teleconverter although I haven't actually fabricated a mount for it yet. I'll probably just cut a Nikon UR-E8 to the right height and bond them together. jafleming3 Posted January 9, 2011 Share #4 Posted January 9, 2011 Fred: So that makes it a 70mm? A lot of people go for the DLux 4 or 5 because of the zoom lens feature. More flexible. But 24mm to 110mm, to me, is really within the 'zoom with your feet' range. One feature I'd like in the X2 would be a 24mm (36mm) f1.4 lens - as well as much faster focusing. The lack of zoom or wider or more tele lens doesn't bother me that much. It's an issue for many people, though. cheers, john
JeTexas Posted January 10, 2011 Author Share #5 Posted January 10, 2011 Unfortunately, the faster lens on your wish list is beyond my abilities. We'll have to wait on Leica for that. I developed the teleconverter for portraiture. I've had some good results with the 36mm, but adding the teleconverter makes close-ups a little more flattering.
