hello leica users,

anyone can tell me how to view in Apple Aperture's metadata the lens used and the aperture like Lightroom and C1pro?

All my lensen are coded but in Apple Aperture these informations don't appear...

Thanks in advance and good light....:)

Thanks for reply pimver,

I have read http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/digital-post-processing-forum/124606-not-so-complete-idiots-guide-changing.html... and other old threads.

Last version of Aperture recognize correctly the lenses coded, but it does not propose the f/stop like LR3 or C1Pro (i know that's a calculation because the value is not electronically transmitted to the camerabody)....

How it's possible to modify the script for only this feature?

Thanks...

hi,

i have been struggling with this for a long time, and really got frustrated with it.

trying to master my equipment and improve my photography, I usually take multiple shots with different f-stops to get a feel for DoF and bokeh per lens, hence the reason why I want this show up in my default application which is Aperture.

To cut a long story short, it may sounds laughable and over the top, but this is how I do it:

When I shoot I back up every day on my laptop and add the pictures to Lightroom on my MBP, I make sure Lightroom does not convert or losless compress my files.

When I get home I export all from Lightroom to my iMac after which I import them in Aperture. After this exercise the exif in Aperture has all the lens info and f-stop taken over

hope this helps

Pim

All problems with Aperture and the proper reading of the EXIF data recorded by the Leica-M digital cameras can be solved with an Apple Automator Script.

Dirk from JapanExposures is working on a ne one so I'll wait to post something here.

Until now I use one generic script for coded lenses and a set of scripts for different uncoded lenses or lenses combiations (I have one set for my Telyts on the Visio III!)

In short time I expect Dirk will release his work so we can speak of the procedure.

Any update on this?
