spiritflare Posted December 29, 2010 Share #1 Â Posted December 29, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Good Day, Â I have noticed that if one selects "A" for shutter and puts the camera in Aperture-priority mode, the full range of shutter speeds does not appear to be available; only those "notched" on the dial. I believe this is by design. Â My question - when i focus in A-priority mode on a target w/ A=f/2.8, the camera reads Shutter=1/6. When I change to manual mode, (i.e. both dials are not on A), i am not able to select this shutter speed. I can select 1/8th, for example, but not 1/6th. Â First q: Why is it that in A-priority mode, the camera can select some Shutter speeds which when attempted to choose in Manual mode are not available? Â Second q: Sometimes I notice that in Manual mode, i am not able to adjust the EV indictor on the middle bar - sometimes the red bar is -1/3 Ev, and sometimes +1/3 EV - but not centered. It doesn't happen always, but seemingly in some indoor targets that are not as brightly lit. Yet, putting it in full Auto the exposure obviously is perfect. Â Thank-you
