Dan States Posted December 16, 2010 Share #1 Posted December 16, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) This seems to be the place for hopeless folks like me to ID Leitz gizmo's of the past. In searching for info on these things I'm only finding my own posts from years ago. I WAS able to find out that Jim Lager has one. (He believed he had the only one!) Leica has no clue as all the people working there in 1959 have gone on to the great camera shop in the sky... They are Leitz Pradovit controllers that word via ultrasound! There are letters in the boxes from Leitz dated 6/1959 telling how they work, but it seems they were something of a one-off or prototype because the receiving units are not the same. I've turned up nothing on these things on the net or at LHSA or anywhere else. Can it be that Jim Lager and I have the only three on earth? The original price was 99.50 in 1959...about $1200.00 today! My father bought them in the late 70's from a camera/sporting goods store in Detroit that was going out of business. Any ideas would be appreciated!
