allamande Posted December 7, 2010 Author Share #4 Posted December 7, 2010 Dave and Paul, Thank you for your always encouraging feedback. I think it would have been even sharper had I not been shaking with excitement upon this discovery (and hurrying to get the ant in my image). Still, I am happy with it. Dave, I am so glad you've noticed those buds. To me, they look like they are throwing a kiss, saying "here we are...you didn't expect us did you?" It's true, I didn't know that this was to be the magic year. And, yes, jade blooms around this time of year and the first bloom comes after MANY years in the soil. From this point on, this plant should bloom annually (or so I wish). Ece

euston Posted December 16, 2010 Share #6 Posted December 16, 2010 That’s lovely, Ece. The jade plant is a new one on me. I’ll need to do some googling. You’ve caught the colourful lush succulence of the leaves very well. They set the flowers off just nicely.

allamande Posted December 17, 2010 Author Share #8 Posted December 17, 2010 Mike, Robert, and Turner, I am happy that you liked this. It was like an early Xmas gift for me to discover these flowers. I appreciate your comments very much. Robert, you'd be pleasantly surprised with the variety in this family. They are very common around here, and similar climates. Turner, glad to be of help. Snow is a lot more fun this time of year. Please enjoy it for me as well. Ece
