jafleming3 Posted December 5, 2010 Share #1 Â Posted December 5, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've contacted SK Grimes about making an adapter for my X1. I'm not really interested in a hood, but rather in the ability to do macro photography. Are there any critical specifications about the exact length of the adapter (presumably, at least the length of the extended lens) for proper focusing)? Does it matter if the tube is a little longer and how will it affect focusing, sharpness, etc.? Â Then, there should be a filter adapter attached to the end of the tube? Â Then all I'd need to do is purchase a set of macro filters? Â Am I missing something? Â Once completed, I should be able to frame and focus using the LCD rear screen, no? Â I guess with a set-up like this, a hood wouldn't hurt, and I could also use other filters, like a polarizer. Â cheers, Â john
