timetraveller Posted December 4, 2010 Share #1 Â Posted December 4, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi guys, Â I have a question about this setting: I always set maximum iso at 1600 and minimum shutter speed at 1/15. Â But when I shoot, shutter speed doesn't goes down 1/30. I've tried set the minimun at 1/8, just to try, but still doesn't goes down 1/30. Â My guess is that the camera, first push the ISO to the max you set (maintaining 1/30 which is the "minimum" of the lens), and then, puts the speed down if it needs it. Â So, what's the point of this setting if the camera?: if I set to 1/15, I think the camera should do the oposite: set speed to 1/15 with the minimum ISO available, and push the iso up only if needed not to go down 1/15 which is the minimum set... Â Am I missing something? Â Â Thanks in advance

You're right. I agree it would be preferable for the shutter speed to drop to the preset minimum before the ISO increases, but even if the minimum shutter speed is set to 1/15 or 1/8, it only drops to 1/30 before the ISO begins increasing. According to the manual, "the priority is to raise the ISO sensitivity first," which does seem to make the minimum speed setting superfluous. Now it's clear to me that Leica has set the camera not to drop speed under 1/30, and only doing it in case of reaching top high ISO setting... ChiILX1 Posted December 4, 2010 Share #4  Posted December 4, 2010 Great thing about this camera is that when/if it gets in it's own way you can go full manual and turn a dial....
