bab Posted January 19, 2007 Share #1 Posted January 19, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just a note to all how satisfied I am with the results so far...the M8 and 35 lux. The results speak loudly the pictures from this combination is truly amazing! I have never had so many files spot on with in 1/3 stop accuracy. The saturation is great and the sharpness overall of the files are what I expected and beyond. I was curious about the color casts and find its white balance a little off but correctable by setting levels black and white points. My only bitch so far is the auto white balance. I am planning on doing some metering with my Minolta color meter and gretag color checker to get a reference of the shifts. The blues are so very blue and the greens are the best I seen from digital. My canon 1dsmkii was a great performer but I frequently had bad exposures in a series of images and focus irregularities. Not so with the Leica. I have not done any studio shots yet but when I do I would imagine great results. I’m sticking with the 35 lux for a while because I decided to shoot every day many different images until I experience its limitations before moving on with an additional lens. I want to see how far I can push one lens for a variety of images. I have printed some images at 240 and am going to try larger next week pushing up to 30” x 40” around 90 just to see what I can pull out of the files. Cheers Barry
