D-Lux5 and Ricoh LC-1 lenscap ...

I bought that LC-1 Ricoh lenscap for my D-Lux4 but never used it because you could see the edges of the lenscap in the picture

with the D-Lux4 lens zoomed in.

 

Today I tried whether or not the cap would fit the D-Lux5 and .... you need to cut away a few edges on the inside of the cap and

need some pressure to make it go onto the lens barrel but ... it DOES fit and, best of it, due to the slightly bigger diameter of the

lens itself you cant see the lenscap appear in the frame at any zoom position:

Yes, very cool. You can buy an exactly fitting lens cover like that from JJC. I have them for my Sigma DP1 and DP2, and they make them to fit the appropriate Panasonic and Leica cameras as well. Having this lens cover transforms the camera. No fussing around with some lens cap that can be lost, dropped or forgotten.
