D-LUX 5 happy new owner - questions!

Well, insurance finally paid for the disappeared DLUX4, so we went and bought DLUX5 (with the blessing of the insurance company!) with the leather case.

 

The camera looks awesome .... but no shots yet, because we have to charge the battery of course.

 

Some questions on the content of the package:

 

1) Where is the very useful wrist band that we received with DLUX4? There is not trace of it with DLUX5 or with the leather case.

 

2) The case is much larger than the camera itself, so that they had to introduce a "gauge" to fix the camera in the case. Do you know why????

Can't say anything about the camera case, but if the D-Lux 5 is packaged like my LX5, all we got was a neck strap. No wrist strap included with the LX5. I borrowed a wrist strap from an old point-n-shoot I no longer use.

Case may be sized to hold the camera WITH the Electronic Viewfinder installed in the hot shoe. It would be a shame to have a case and the EVF and not be able to fit camera W/EVF installed into the case.

 

Don't really know. No need for a case. And I have the LX5.

Can't say anything about the camera case, but if the D-Lux 5 is packaged like my LX5, all we got was a neck strap .

 

I prefer a neck strap, which I use on my shoulder. ;-)

I don't like a wirst strap, we put a shoulder strap on my wife V20, which is delevered with a wirst strap

I was disappointed that the D-Lux 4 came only with a neckstrap.

 

My wriststrap choice was gordy's camera straps.

 

Would go the same way again with D-Lux 5.

There are 2 different cases for the camera, and a bag as well. One of the cases is designed to fit the camera with the optional grip attached. If you don't have the grip I can tell you it really is a nice addition.
