martinb Posted January 18, 2007 Share #1  Posted January 18, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Today I bought a Lowepro Edit 140+ which only costs about 30 euros. I've had a hard time finding a good bag for the M system but this one seems excellent. You have one detachable bottom compartment where you can store film, a second body, lenses or other accessories. I'll post some pics below. What you see in the bag is a M8 with a 28mm ultron attached, a 35mm summicron ASPH with hood and a 90mm elmarit. If you wonder why the Lowepro logo is black, it's because I painted it black. The green flap in the bag, I took from one of my Billingham bags. Welcome, dear visitor! Advertisement Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 Hi martinb, Take a look here Excellent and cheap Lowepro bag for Leica M system. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
martinb Posted January 18, 2007 Author Share #2 Â Posted January 18, 2007 As usual with Lowepro this bag also has lots of small compartments to put memory cards, filters or other accessories in.
Rbyers Posted January 19, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted January 19, 2007 I use this same bag for my Black MP with my three lenses, the 35mm f/2.0, 50mm f/2, and the 90mm f/2.8. I added the Lowepro Deluxe Shoulder Strap which is a significant improvement over the shoulder strap that comes with this bag. This combination is light and compact. martinb Posted January 19, 2007 Author Share #4 Â Posted January 19, 2007 Welcome to the forum Robert! A better shoulder strap might be a good idea. Do you use the bag with or without the extra compartment?
Rbyers Posted January 19, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted January 19, 2007 Martin, thank you for the welcome. This forum looks like it will provide a lot of useful information and be fun as well. I have been using this Lowepro bag without the extra compartment and find I have more than enough room for my MP,lenses, filters, and film. I did try the UPstrap on this bag but I found it was not as comfortable as the Lowepro Deluxe Shoulder Strap. The UPstrap does a great job of staying on your shoulder and I use it on another top loading camera bag for my Nikon D200.
Jay Clawson Posted January 19, 2007 Share #6  Posted January 19, 2007 I found the Lowepro Omni Sport to be a perfect bag for carrying a complete Leica System. The attached photo shows a M8 with TriElmar, 28/1.9 VC, and several other lenses from 12mm to 75mm. The Silver 75/2.5 VC lens in the corner fits perfectly for depth with the hood attached. The case is smaller than it appears, only 11"x9"x5". I use the larger Upstrap for carrying over the shoulder, and the bag also has a waist belt that conveniently tucks into the bottom of the bag without adding much bulk. The side of the bag near the strap, as shown in the photo, also zips open for easy access from the shoulder or waist belt position. If I want to reduce weight for a days shooting, I just leave behind the lenses I don't need - the case is still small enough to carry all day.  This bag also fits the smallest Pelican 1400 hard case. mr_big Posted January 19, 2007 Share #13 Â Posted January 19, 2007 I'd buy a bag like this but the problem I have with most of the Lowepro bags is its use of zippers. I find that bags that have flaps and buckles are far more usable which is why I gravitate towards the Domke bags. I guess it comes from my days as a working photojournalist. Â mr_big, You're right about that. The good thing about this bag is that you don't have to zip it, so that you can pull out the camera fast.
macusque Posted January 19, 2007 Share #15 Â Posted January 19, 2007 Very nice bag Martin! Â I use one small bag from National Geographic, but I don't like its light color. I prefer the more "stealth" black. Your Lowepro doesn't seem deep. I mean, when you wear it does it protrude much from your body ?
martinb Posted January 19, 2007 Author Share #16 Â Posted January 19, 2007 A little, but not that much. It's a small bag so it may seem deep, but it really isn't.
