I wonder if Leica were so intrigued to know just how a lens copes with a machine-wash, that they decided it was worth eating any repair costs to find out. It will be interesting to see if the next printing of the Leica warrantee makes any mention about washing lenses? ROFL! Disclaimer: Use only gentle cycle with Woolite detergent. Do NOT tumble dry.
