psamson Posted November 15, 2010 Share #1 Posted November 15, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Leica Rumors D-Lux 5 looks sharper, but per the site sounds like it also has the larger sensor. Advertisement Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Hi psamson, Take a look here Leica D-Lux 4 vs D-Lux 5 vs V-Lux 2 ISO comparison . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ho_co Posted November 16, 2010 Share #2 Posted November 16, 2010 Peter--thanks for the link. I hadn't seen the comparison. The D-Lux 5 does seem a bit less noisy, but the quality of the D-Lux 4 is still impressive. For me personally, the color rendition of both the D-Lux 4 and the V-Lux 2 is more pleasing in his samples. I wonder if that yellow-green cast might be a result of the processing needed to give the cleaner results in the D-Lux 5. His observation that the V-Lux 2 doesn't perform as well at higher ISOs as the others seems a bit strange, since that is just what one would expect because, as you point out, the D-Luces' sensor is larger than that of the V-Lux 2.
