Dan States Posted November 22, 2010 Share #63 Â Posted November 22, 2010 Edward, it looks to be focusing beyond infinity...Or as Buzz Lightyear would say, "To infinity, AND BEYOND". Â It will be WAY better when you get it back. Â Best wishes Dan
h00ligan Posted November 22, 2010 Author Share #64 Â Posted November 22, 2010 That was my thought too Dan. My worst fear with this is Leica decides they cant reproduce, so i will have to be specific in my note. It would stink for it to be gone a month and get the same camera unrepaired and returned! Â It's going out today so....start the stop watch.

jpjansen Posted November 27, 2010 Share #71  Posted November 27, 2010 Spawned from another thread or three, I'd like to see examples of the x1 without massive post sharpening/ work. Something either tripod based or at a shutter speed where shake is not an issue.  I'd really like to get a definitive answer as to whether my x1 is performing up to par.  I see many claims about sharpness /iq beating even full frame cameras, so let's see them.  The only sharpening that should be applied is default raw converter. No ooc jpg as it sharpens a lot, and frankly since we don't have control over nr, which smears, it won't work.  I'd appreciate a resized full shot followed by crops both center and off center.  Thank you all you'd really be helping me out.  Yes this is a gear thread its about the camera not photography   As requested. h00ligan Posted November 27, 2010 Author Share #72 Â Posted November 27, 2010 Wow, 1/10. Impressive. I was engaged in a conversation with another owner in a different forum and we both agreed that the x1 was very difficult to hand hold at low speeds (he has posted some outstanding shots with his x1). He suggested the thumbs up add-on stating that it drastically improved handling, particularly in circumstances like your shots above. Have you added the grip or thumbs up, or just very practiced at steady shooting? Â One potential issue with the thumbs up is changing the height of the hotshoe when using the ovf. Â Thanks for your shots., good stuff! Â Btw, I was hand holding a m9/35 combo at 1/10-1/15, without shake issues..but I find the x1 difficult..even when not in zombie mode. With a minimum focusing distance of 30cm it makes absolutely zero difference, and if someone's personal opinion is that it doesn't look as good yet bitches about their grip on the camera, well, then, we aren't talking about photography anymore. I'm not saying Edward brings it up, but why have I seen it mentioned in like 4 threads?  Anyway- I have plenty of photos on my flickrstream- any of which you can see full original size. Find any one you find exceptionally sharp and zoom in to check it out.
h00ligan Posted November 28, 2010 Author Share #78 Â Posted November 28, 2010 Yah, I dnt think it looks bad, and I wouldn't care either way...when I handled an m9 with thumbs up, it was a big improvement. I think I'll give it a try, like I said I was just wondering about vf offset. Â So are you using one? I assume so.
